The Madrass Podcast was a Caribbean Music Podcast with music and interviews from the Creole community.
Focused on the Kréyòl islands and their Diasporas:
Haiti, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Dominica, St Lucia, Guyane, New-York, Miami, Boston, Canada, France and the United Kingdom.
This podcast was a way to explore and stay rooted in my cultural background by curating Creole music.
Running from 2007 to 2013, it is still available on iTunes and its website madrasspodcast.net
75 episodes of interviews and all kind of Caribbean creole music blended with various influences: Konpa, Zouk, Reggae, Hip-Hop, Gospel, Jazz, Acapella, Traditional, Soul, Dancehall, Electronic, Rock…
“Madrass” is a reference to the Madras fabric used for the traditional dresses in Dominica, St Lucia and the French West Indies.
All this work has been non-profit, all artists’ music and photographs used for covers are protected by copyright.
Songs and background musics were either provided by artists, labels, promoters, DJs or simply bought.
If you appreciate the curation work, please donate to the Haitian charity Free the Kids of the Pwoje Espwa.
